What Venn-acular collects, why, and the choices you have.
Last updated: October 14, 2026
This policy explains how the Venn-acular website (the "game", "we") handles information when you play. In short: there are no accounts, we do not ask for your name or email address, and the game data we collect is anonymous.
Information stored on your device
The game saves the following in your browser's local storage, on your own device:
- your progress in each puzzle, your scores and your stats;
- your settings, such as light or dark mode, sound and vibration;
- a random player code that your browser creates the first time you play. It is not linked to your name, email address or any account.
You can delete this information at any time by clearing the site data for this website in your browser settings. Doing so resets your stats.
Information sent to our server
To show you how other players did, the game sends a small amount of anonymous information to our server:
- the random player code described above;
- the puzzle number, your score and the words you scored with;
- simple counts of visits, rounds started and rounds finished, used to measure how many people play each day;
- words you choose to report as missing from the dictionary, with the puzzle's rules.
We do not store your IP address, name, email address or location with this information. It is used only to run and improve the game, for example to show score comparisons and to review reported words. We keep it for as long as the game runs, in anonymous form.
Hosting and fonts
The game is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any website host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse; see Cloudflare's privacy policy. The game's fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser downloads them; see Google's privacy policy.
Advertising and cookies
The game may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, measure them, and, where you allow it, personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites.
- Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- You can turn off personalised advertising in Google's Ad Settings, or visit aboutads.info to opt out of personalised ads from many companies.
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent before personalised ads or cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time from the privacy link in that message.
Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
Children
The game is suitable for all ages but is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The anonymous game data described above does not identify anyone.
Your rights
Because the game data we hold is anonymous, we usually cannot link it to you. If you would like data tied to your player code removed, contact us with the code, which we can help you find, and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
